The event for the defeat of NATO was successfully held, in Athens, Greece as part of the campaign against NATO for the 77th anniversary of its founding. Speakers included the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Freddy Fernandez Torres and Hossein Malek Givzat, ambassador the Islamic Republic of Iran, Konstantina Kartsioti from the Anti-Imperialist Front, journalist and author Leonidas Vatikiotis and Argyro Syrmakezi from the “Ilektra Apostolou” People’s Struggle Front. A video intervention was also sent by Takis Politis, visiting professor in Cuba.
A large number of people, anti-imperialists anti-fascists, attended the event, posing questions to the speakers and making statements. A productive discussion followed, analyzing the international situation as well as the duties of the international anti-imperialist movement.
It was declared by all participants that we support Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, and Donbas, and that we struggle in a common front against imperialism, Zionism, and fascism at home and abroad.
The issue of closing US-NATO bases was raised and the unity of the antiimperialist struggle against USA-NATO-EU.
