France is seething with anger
The crisis of French imperialism and its policy of terror
Solidarity with ant-iimperialist, anti-Zionist comrade Tom Martin
For the past two weeks, France has been swept by a vast student movement. A movement that began in schools in working-class neighbourhoods. The students are fighting for a public education system, but the anger of young people also stems from the dignity denied to them by widespread social precarity, the neo-colonial police, Islamophobia, and so on…
The government’s response has been one of violence and terror, with more than 6,000 students targeted by the crackdown. This response demonstrates not the government’s strength, but its crisis – the crisis of French imperialism – in the face of young students in struggle, just as it does in the face of the peoples of Africa who have rid themselves of French imperialism.
It is within this context that we must denounce yet another repressive attack against anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist comrade from Toulouse, Tom Martin.
Tom is accused of “apology terrorism”; his ‘crime’ is being an active campaigner in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle. This is yet another repressive action against an anti-imperialist campaigner, aimed at terrorising all those who stand in solidarity with Palestine. Because Palestine is the symbol of resistance!
It is no coincidence that outside many schools we can see the Palestinian flag, carried by students as a symbol of resistance.
Our solidarity goes out to comrade Tom Martin and to all those who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle!
Our solidarity goes out to the students in struggle!
