The contents of this book are drawn from the weekly magazine Halk Okulu (People’s School). The magazine is published in Turkish and is widely distributed among Turkish-speaking people in Anatolia and Europe and, through the internet, throughout the rest of the world.
The editors, workers, journalists and distributors of this magazine have been imprisoned, tortured, shot and martyred. The publications that preceded Halk Okulu were Yeni Çözüm (New Solution), Mücadele (Struggle), Kurtuluş (Liberation), Yaşadığımız Vatan (The Homeland We Live In), Ekmek ve Adalet (Bread and Justice) and Yürüyüş (Marching).
One of the magazine’s editors and its owner, İrfan Yılmaz, remains in prison despite having a 98% disability and being described by fascism in Turkey as “dangerous to society”. For obvious reasons, what they mean by “society” is the bourgeoisie, their fascist AKP rule and their master, US imperialism.
We will carry on being dangerous to their system.
This book consists of four sections:
- Ideology
- Problem–Solution
- Not a Matter of Personality, but of Knowledge
- Front Member (Cepheli)
When these sections are brought together, they form a guide for a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary.
Those who are unfamiliar with the understanding and culture of the Cephe should study this book. You will find answers to many questions here: how to find solutions to our problems, how to overcome our weaknesses, how to become a leading cadre, how to approach people and how to develop collectivism. It does not, of course, cover every aspect of the struggle, but it helps us understand and gives us a perspective.
Our advice is to study the contents of this book. Simply reading it is not enough even to fully understand it. It must be digested and made your own, so that the qualities and skills required of a revolutionary become part of you and remain with you throughout your life.
This book is dedicated to all the workers of the Turkish publications mentioned above, and especially to İrfan Yılmaz, who is currently imprisoned in Marmara No. 2 L-Type Prison in Istanbul.
