The editorial team of the Marxist-Leninist journal Supernova informs you that two of our comrades, Lidia and Diego, were raided and taken into police custody this morning.
Their “crime”? Supporting the Palestinian cause.
It has become alarmingly commonplace in France today to be subjected to a police raid at 6 a.m. because of a statement or leaflet denouncing what the Palestinian people are enduring and praising their resistance.
Hundreds of associations have been dissolved or shut down, and their activities suspended.
Hundreds of people have been arrested: members of parliament, journalists, and workers have lost their jobs or been sanctioned solely because of their support for Palestine.
Our comrades saw the entrance door of their building forced open. Their computer equipment was seized, along with political books and pamphlets.
The police then entered the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Center and confiscated additional pamphlets, books, and two more computers.
This repression does not surprise us, nor does it intimidate us. This attempt to silence us is further proof of the legitimacy of our struggle.
Lidia and Diego are communist activists who have participated for thirty years in struggles supporting oppressed and resisting peoples.
They were placed in police custody because of their political commitments, for defending the Palestinian resistance and all revolutionary activists. They were detained for supporting the cause of workers and for their perseverance in the fight against French imperialism and its chief ally, U.S. imperialism.
U.S. imperialism is suffering a historic defeat in Iran, and the nations of Africa are building a future free from the tutelage of the French state. These are the same forces that kill resistance fighters abroad, defend the strongholds of major capitalists there (Total, Bolloré, Vinci, etc.), and arrest activists here.
We, as communists, will continue to resist—against NATO and for proletarian autonomy. We are right, and we will prevail.
Long live the resistance! Long live the Palestinian struggle!
