We express our unwavering solidarity with the comrades of Supernova and firmly condemn the repression carried out by the French state against Lidia and Diego.
This morning, their homes were raided by police forces, their building entrance was forced open, and they were taken into custody. Their computers, political books, and pamphlets were seized. The repression extended further with a police intervention at the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Centre, where additional materials and equipment were confiscated. Their alleged “crime” is their support for the Palestinian cause and their political commitment to anti-imperialist struggle around the world.
The raids, arrests, and seizure of political materials are not exceptional measures, they are part of a systematic campaign of repression aimed at silencing all those who stand with the Palestinian people and oppose imperialism. The charge of “apology for terrorism” is nothing but a political instrument, deployed to criminalise internationalism and suppress revolutionary voices.
French imperialism once again demonstrates its collaboration with Zionism and reactionary forces around the world, attempting to intimidate revolutionaries, communists, and all those who refuse to remain silent in the face of imperialist aggression.
Our comrades from Supernova were detained and treated as criminals today, whilst the real criminals are gathering in Switzerland. It is not us who murdered 70,000 Palestinians and thousands of Lebanese. It is not us who murdered 168 primary school children in Minab town of Iran. It is not us who supports neo-Nazis of Ukraine who murdered children and young people of Donbass.
All these crimes directly or indirectly committed by the US, German, French and British imperialists and their collaborators.
What we are witnessing is not merely an attack on two militants, but an attack on the entire anti-imperialist movement. Across France and other imperialist countries, the state apparatus is being mobilised to dismantle organisations, intimidate activists, and enforce ideological conformity in defence of imperialist interests.
This repression reveals the true nature of the French state as an imperialist power. It is the same state that participates in military interventions, defends the interests of monopolies such as Total, Bolloré, and Vinci, and aligns itself with U.S. imperialism and NATO. While it supports colonial violence and reactionary regimes abroad, it increasingly restricts political freedoms at home. Those who persecute militants here are the same forces that enable war, destruction, and exploitation abroad.
At the same time, imperialism is facing growing resistance worldwide. From the steadfast struggle of the Palestinian people against occupation and resisting people of Iran against murderer US, to the resistance movements in West Asia, to the rising assertion of sovereignty by African nations breaking from neocolonial domination, the world balance is shifting. Across Latin America, Asia, and Africa, peoples continue to organise against exploitation, dependency, and imperialist control. From Palestine to Africa, from West Asia to Latin America, the peoples of the world are resisting, and imperialism is increasingly unable to contain this tide.
These developments explain the intensification of repression in imperialist centres: as the system weakens around the world, it seeks to reinforce itself domestically by targeting communists, internationalists, workers, and all those committed to revolutionary change.
Lidia and Diego are being persecuted for their political commitments, for defending the Palestinian resistance, for standing with oppressed peoples around the world, and for maintaining a consistent struggle against imperialism over decades. Their repression is a warning directed at all who refuse to accept the injustices of the current brutal system.
But they will not succeed. They cannot intimidate us. They cannot silence us. They cannot break the resistance.
We reject this intimidation. We affirm that the struggle of the Palestinian people is just and legitimate. We affirm that resistance against imperialism, colonialism, and exploitation is not a crime, but a necessity. We affirm that proletarian internationalism remains a guiding principle for all those committed to liberation.
In the face of repression, our response must be unity, organisation, and escalation of struggle. We call on all anti-imperialist, progressive, and revolutionary forces to denounce these attacks, defend those targeted, and strengthen coordination across borders. We are part of an international movement of revolutionaries, communists, and progressive forces that no repression can divide or defeat.
The attempt to silence revolutionary voices will fail. The more repression intensifies, the more clearly it exposes the contradictions of imperialism and the necessity of its overthrow. The people’s struggle for freedom, socialism, and justice will prevail.
Long live international solidarity.
Long live the resistance of oppressed peoples.
Down with imperialism and NATO.
Victory to the Palestinian struggle.
