We would like to share this letter, which Irfan Yilmaz wrote about his condition.
The Forensic Medical Institute report says that I am 96% disabled. This means that I am unable to meet even the most basic of human needs without help.
I can’t do the following things by myself: brush my teeth, lie down, sit up, take a bath, wash my hands or stretch my legs. You will definitely need at least one person’s help to do all this.
Because of my illness (Cerebellar Syndrome), this situation is getting worse every day.
I am living with the help of my friends. Actually, another friend is writing this letter to you.
Even so, the security forces say this is why they won’t let him go:
“As a result of our investigations into the individual named Irfan Yılmaz, if his sentence is suspended, it could pose a threat to public safety…”
The Forensic Medical Institute has confirmed that he cannot move by himself and cannot stay in prison because of his diseases. However, the Sariyer District Police Department has said that he can stay.
SO HE REMAINS IN PRISON.
Irfan’s words are a call to action, telling us to act for his freedom and to achieve justice.
I want to talk about the health problems I have had because of things that have happened to me. I want these problems to stop. I wish you every success in your work.

1-) Sending letters and postcards to the prison where Irfan Yilmaz is being held to demand justice and protect his health.
