Fete Humanite was held in Paris between 13-15 September. As every year, it attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.
This year, in the village du monde (world village) where the “international organisations” were located, Palestine was given a special focus, it had its own section.
The Anti-Imperialist Front participated and had a stand in Humanity, as it has done for many years.
Signatures against NATO were collected at the stand.
Also leaflets prepared by the Anti Imperialist Front in French were distributed.
On Saturday, 14 September, a panel organised by the Anti Imperialist Front on “political imprisonment” was held.
The speakers at the panel were as follows:

- Collectif Palestine Vaincra
- Unitary Campaign for the liberation of George Abdallah
- Committee for the contruction of communist party
- Ligue of revolutionary youth
- No to 129 committee (Weg mit dem §129)
- Popular Front
Immediately after the panel, a march for the freedom of George Ibrahim Abdallah was organised in Humanity at 15.00, which is traditionally organised every year.
However, an event that had never happened before took place during the march.
The French Communist Party (FKP), the organiser of the Humanite Festival, intervened in the march following a protest by “leftist Zionists” who had a stand at the Humanite.
The Zionists in the area were disturbed. And the security was instructed from the top. Therefore, for the first time this march was interrupted.
As AIF we strongly condemn this development.
Apart from that, the Humanity Festival, where solidarity with the Palestinian people was loudly expressed from everywhere, ended on Sunday 15 September.
