On June 28, 2026, the second day of the People’s Unity Summit Against NATO, organized by the People’s Front and the Anti-Imperialist Front, was successfully completed.
Following the political sessions of the first day, the second day featured a session titled “Colonialism, Neo-Colonialism, and the 3rd Crisis Period of Imperialism.” This was also the final session of the summit. The organizations participating in this session, both physically and via video, were as follows:
* The Jose Marti Association of Cubans in Catalonia
* People’s Law Office – International Bureau
* All-African People’s Revolutionary Party
* National Front for the Struggle for Socialism (Meksika)
* Communist Party of Mexican Communists
* Second Call for Independence (Argentina)
- * Network of comities and collectives for struggle (Italy)
During the session, examples of colonialism and neo-colonialism from Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Turkey were presented, and discussions were held on how to struggle against these neo-colonial relations.
Following the session, a break was taken to prepare the draft declaration. This draft was read from the stage by the institutions organizing the summit. The declaration was met with great enthusiasm and applause. All organizing institutions, including the People’s Front, the Anti-Imperialist Front, and Grup YORUM, delivered closing speeches calling for an escalation of the joint struggle against the American empire, imperialism, and its armed wing, NATO. Finally, everyone was given the opportunity to contribute and make additions to the declaration. However, despite repeated reminders from the moderators, those who took the floor generally spoke about how important the summit was and the need to unite and destroy NATO and imperialism, rather than offering specific proposals.
In this period when the left has removed NATO and imperialism from its literature, our summit has succeeded in becoming a source of hope and morale for the left! It possessed the courage to bring together a total of 50 institutions from 4 continents to target NATO and fight together against imperialism and the American empire!
The final event of the summit focused on art and the cultural sphere—areas to which imperialism and NATO attach great importance and attempt to exploit through massive investments as part of their policy to occupy minds. Following two local groups, the “Until Victory” (*Zafere Kadar*) delegation performed two Iranian folk songs as a choir, followed by a performance by Grup YORUM. With enthusiastic anthems and traditional dances (*halay*), everyone declared in one voice, “America is the Enemy!”
The People’s Unity Summit Against NATO, full of enthusiasm and hope, lasted for a total of 2 days. Speeches were delivered on behalf of 50 institutions in total, and more than 500 people attended the summit!
