ANTI-IMPERIALIST FRONT STATEMENT ON RAID CONDUCTED AGAINST YÜRÜYÜŞ MAGAZINE, JUNE 14, 2019

You are preparing the end of your thieving, murderous anti-people fascist government.

The Yürüyüş magazine was once again raided on the morning of June 14th by the puppet policemen of AKP fascism. AKP fascism deliberately targets Yürüyüş magazine one or two days before its publication day on Saturday as an attempt to prevent publication.

The AKP’s impotence has been so overtly evident that even the simplicity of its fabricated videos is enough to reveal how grave is the crisis of its inability to rule. While the AKP, which has reached its last desperation, attacks every person and institution that faces it, it is too helpless to see how insignificant and incapable it is.

Although the AKP has raided the magazine office dozens of times, its foolish boss and his henchmen are too blind to see that the magazine is printed and distributed under all circumstances. These are the last struggles of its desperation.

On the one hand, its lord and master the United States draws the last remaining wealth out of our country, while on the other hand it imposes on our people the corruption devised by the imperialists. They attack the peoples of the neighbouring countries at the behest of the imperialists and shed the blood of the children of our country. It makes our people needy, even onions are in short supply, leaving our country’s agriculture dependent on imperialist countries. While there are such economic and social problems in our country, AKP fascism raids the offices of patriotic media workers who expose the AKP’s cruelty and treason.

Even the research by imperialist media outlets place Turkey behind countries like Uganda and Afghanistan in the ranking of press freedom in the world.

As the Anti-Imperialist Front, we say: fascism has never escaped the justice of the people in the world. You will not be able to silence the patriotic media workers with raids on the magazine Yürüyüş. Yürüyüş is the magazine of the people. That magazine will be published and distributed again tomorrow.

Ali Araç, member of Grup Yorum has been detained under torture, and media workers Merve Kurd, Ümit Çimen and Yılmaz Viraner, but they will be replaced by others.

We call for an end to the unfair and unjust detention of the Grup Yorum member Ali Araci, and magazine workers Merve Kurd, Ümit Çimen and Yılmaz Viraner and demand their immediate release.
