A-) COLLECTIVE HUNGER STRIKE:
On 13 August, on the 277th day of Serkan Onur Yılmaz’s death fast, a collective hunger strike was held at the joint call of TAYAD and AIF.
To keep Serkan Onur Yılmaz alive, many people mobilised even during this holiday period and participated in a one-day solidarity hunger strike in response to the call.
Among them were also comrades from Belgium and Ukraine.
Despite the summer holidays, 199 people went on hunger strike in Europe:
Greece: 40 people
Germany: 43 people
France: 39 people
Netherlands: 9 people
Great Britain: 10 people
Grup Yorum House (Germany): 8 people
Switzerland: 16 people
Austria: 28 people
Belgium: 4 people
Ukraine: 2 people
Total: 199 people

On Saturday, 16 August, on the 280th day of Serkan Onur Yılmaz’s Hunger Strike, we will hold a discussion on the PIT Type prisons.
One of the speakers will be Şükriye Akar, whose husband has been on a hunger strike for approximately 140 days.
A speaker from TAYAD is also expected to attend.

C-) THE NATIVE AMERICAN DEDICATE THEIR SACRED DANCES TO SERKAN ONUR YILMAZ AND THE PRISONERS WHO ARE ON HUNGER STRIKE AND THE SICK PRISONERS
The native Americans in the United States have dance ceremonies in the summer.
These are their religious rituals.
The Native American leading the dance is called the ‘sun dance chief.’
On 13 August, during the ‘sun dance,’ the sun dance chief will dedicate his dance to the prisoners on hunger strike and the sick prisoners in Turkish prisons.
These dancers fast and dance around a sacred tree.
On the fourth day, they pierce themselves to honour their great-grandfathers and Mother Earth.
