Given the recent death of the political prisoner c. JORGE EDUARDO OLIVARES DEL CARPIO, the Association of Relatives of the Disappeared and Victims of Genocide, we pronounce and propose the following:
1.- With much pain and indignation we see how every day, every moment, the policy of discrimination, hatred and revenge of the Peruvian State, takes away our loved ones, political prisoners; Yesterday it was Natividad Bernardo Villar, then Marino Rafael Uscata, today he is Jorge Olivares Del Carpio, who will it be tomorrow !? We are wondering. Well, the truth is that no one receives adequate medical attention in prisons, each one has to solve as they can, either with the pandemic virus or other ills accumulated in decades of confinement, as happened today with our beloved Jorge Olivares Del Carpio, who had detained 25 years, and who was not given adequate and timely medical attention to prevent his death.
2.- As family members we raise our voice of denunciation and hold the Peruvian State, the current government headed by Martin Vizcarra, the Minister of Justice and the Head of INPE, responsible for the death of the political prisoner JORGE EDUARDO OLIVARES DEL CARPIO, who after feeling Delicate on Tuesday, he was recently evacuated on Wednesday afternoon with severe colic, and a corpse arrived at the Almenara Hospital at almost 8 at night. We denounce the intention to pass the death of Jorge Olivares as a consequence of COVID 19, we consider that the objective is to cover up his responsibility by not giving him timely medical attention and the crime of not attending to him in the most elemental aspects that health and life preservation demands.
Where to complain? Where to demand their fundamental rights trampled by the stigma of being a “terrorist”, with no right to anything? We only found the support of the solidarity people who also suffer from the hunger of quarantine and the deadly virus that lurks. Contagions are advancing, the consequences are multiplying and the exploiting and corrupt state, with campaigns of false security reasons, is letting them die. The war ended 28 years ago, however visceral hatred presents our families as imminent danger, no matter objective reasons or the laws that the Constitution protects, long years of confinement in the worst conditions are not enough, no matter the evils that haunt them, apply as before, the policy of “the best ‘terrorist’ is the dead ‘terrorist'”. State Policy that we denounce and reject
3.- As family members of political prisoners, we assist them and we will continue to assist them with everything we can within our means, as has happened in the face of the contagion of the coronavirus and other ills that afflict them, but we insist it is the responsibility of the State to take the measures Necessary to prevent deaths from continuing to increase in prisons, the decriminalization of vulnerable people is essential, as well as those who find themselves in preventive prisons, among others, and if they claim to be Democrats, they should do so, without any discrimination.
