THE TRIAL OF 3 REVOLUTIONARIES, ANTIFASCISTS OF TURKEY BEGINS IN GERMANY

LET’S SOLIDARITY SUPPORT THE TRIAL OF 3 ANTI-FASCISTS FROM TURKEY IN GERMANY
For just over 1 year now, the three revolutionaries, anti-fascists Özgül Emre,
Ihsan Cibelik and Serkan Küpeli have been in political prison in Germany.
Their anti-fascist, political activities and their participation in such activities are now being prosecuted by state authorities as terrorism under paragraph 129b.
Their trial begins on 14 June at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court.
WHO ARE THE DEFENDANTS AND WHAT ARE THEY ACCUSED OF?
Ihsan Cibelik is one of the oldest members of Grup Yorum and has been living in political exile in Europe for many years.
It goes without saying that as a member of the best-known opposition group in Turkey, he pursues his artistic activities at all public political and private events.
However, this is also what he will be charged with in the upcoming trial.
Özgül Emre worked as a left-wing journalist in Turkey and was often subjected to reprisals and torture. In a state governed by the rule of law, it should be understandable that she takes part in the political debate even in exile, and that she is committed to fighting against persistent injustice in her home country.
She is accused of organising a concert by the band Grup Yorum.
The charges against the anti-fascist Serkan Küpeli are also largely based on participation in legal events and activities.
Since their arrest last year, all three defendants have been subjected to the arbitrary measures provided by the prison system for prisoners with reference to law article 129-b. So prison and isolation within the prison walls!
The close cooperation with the fascist repressive apparatus and its secret service organisation, which outraged especially in the last decades of the AKP government by kidnapping, torturing and murdering opposition members, scandalously also led increasingly to the persecution of left-wing, progressive opposition forces in Germany, who appear on the notorious “lists” of “terrorists” chosen by Erdoğan.
One of the most persecuted progressive forces in Turkey is the band Grup Yorum, whose members have been permanently attacked and obstructed outside the country ever since they made it onto the AKP’s list of wanted “terrorists”.
Paragraph 129b, which is used to persecute in particular left-wing, progressive forces and recently also some Kurdish opposition members from Turkey, represents in this form a danger to any political, democratic opposition.
To define the legitimate struggle against injustice as terrorism and to condemn it, in cooperation with the state repressive authorities, who have been condemned by the ECHR for their serious violations of human rights and who are obviously hunting down people with political asylum in Germany and all over Europe, is unacceptable. Political protest cannot and must not be condemned!
The trial affects us all, the defendants are not alone!
Let’s participate in the trial of 14th June and the other trial dates, in which the political defendants continue to defend their right to struggle for justice!
Held solidarity rallies with the 3 in front of German embassies!
Both to stand against the repression by 129-b and for the freedom of Tim Hilgendorf and others  who were arrested while peacefully protesting for the right to demonstrate!
FREE ÖZGÜL,  IHSAN AND SERKAN!
FREE ALL ANTIFASCIST,  POLITICAL PRISONERS!
ABOLISH LAW 129-B
