The 6th hearing of the court was held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
In this hearing, the defense of the prisoners continued. Harika Kızılkaya, İsmail Zat, Hasan Kaya, Halil Demir, Ali Ercan Gökoğlu, Hazal Seçer, Anıl Sayar, Burak Ağarmış and Sinan Çam made their defense.
Harika Kızılkaya explained that the academic-democratic struggle of the student youth took place in his defense and that she met revolutionary ideas in this struggle, that she was a socialist revolutionary, and that she participated in anti-imperialist and anti-fascist actions and activities. She said that after she came to Greece, she continued her struggle against fascism. She talked about her political activities in Greece, explained that all this is not a crime and that the revolutionaries are not terrorists.
Secondly, İsmail Zat made his defense. In his defense, İsmail Zat said that he was a revolutionary worker, he was fired because of his union struggle, resisted this injustice, was arrested, threatened with death, took refuge in Greece due to the oppression of fascism, and continued his struggle here.
Then Hasan Kaya made his defense. Hasan Kaya is a revolutionary writer and poet, he took part in the economic-democratic struggle of the people in Turkey, he was imprisoned because of his revolutionary identity and political activities, he had to leave his country because of the increasing fascist terrorism, he took refuge in Greece, where he continued his political activities. He said that he continues his struggle against fascism.
After Hasan Kaya, the defense was made by Halil Demir. He explained that bourgeois law exists to protect the interests of the bourgeoisie, that everyone is not equal before the law, that bourgeois law is unjust, and that he defends socialist law against bourgeois law. He said, he met the reality of fascism in Turkey at a young age. He told that his mother was tortured in front of his eyes, his uncle Eyüphan Polat was shot and killed in the house that was surrounded and his aunt Esma Polat was raped and tortured in the police station and later killed by the police in the house she was staying. He talked about the tortures and captivity he went through. He said that he came to Greece because of the fascist pressure and threats he was experiencing and that he continued his struggle there. He talked about his political activities in Greece, explained that the revolutionary struggle is not terrorism, revolutionaries are not terrorists, that revolutionaries cannot be judged with terrorist demagogues, that international solidarity is the weapon and duty of the peoples, talked about the brotherhood between the peoples and the left in Greece and Turkey.
Then Ali Ercan Gökoğlu defended. In his defense, Ali Ercan Gökoğlu talked about the terror of fascism in Turkey against revolutionary, democrat, progressive, intellectual, anti-imperialist and anti-fascist individuals, institutions and organizations, massacres committed by fascism, disappearances in custody, tortures and injustices. He explained that all this was done by the imperialists and the collaborator fascist government, by the CIA and the counter-guerrilla, by the state to take over the people, that the Turkish state is a fascist state, and that it is ruled by mafia-thief-killers.
Later, Hazal Seçer made a defense. Hazal Seçer, as a high school student, said that she took part in the academic-democratic struggle of the student youth, that the people in the poor neighborhood she lived took part in the struggle against corruption, drugs-prostitution-gambling, that the youth is the future of the people, that the children of the people were murdered, that their brains were surrendered with drugs. She explained that she participated in anti-imperialist, anti-fascist actions and activities, used her democratic rights, and was therefore arrested and tortured. She said that she had taken refuge in Greece and that she remained true to her thoughts and continued her struggle accordingly.
Lastly, Anıl Sayar, Burak Ağarmış and Sinan Çam made their defense. Like other prisoners, they defended the legitimacy of revolutionism, rejected the claims of terrorism and demanded their aquittal.
And so the defense of all the prisoners is over. The court will continue with the opinion of the prosecutor’s office Thursday 15 July 2021, at 09:30.
