‘People’s Lawyer Aytac Ünsal who was on death fast and has been released from prison by a court decison in order to get treatment, was arbitrarily re-arrested a few weeks ago by the demand of the Interior Ministry. He was detained and tortured by the police, after he left Istanbul with a friend in order to breathe different air.
There is no legal basis for his detention and arrest, despite of the false allegations and propaganda lies in the police media declaring that Aytac was about to leave the country. Neither this allegation was true, nor did the court order prohibit him to leave the city.
Aytac Ünsal is again in prison, his release order was arbitrarily rescinded and he was deprived from the right to medical treatment although he hasn’t had enough time to recover after 215 days of death fast. The anti-terror police applied its torture crimes on a lawyer in front of cameras.
We want immediate freedom, first of all for Aytac Ünsal and then for all the people’s lawyers who were arrested without a fair trial and whose case which was nothing but political punishment, had been witnessed by the law firms, bar associations and legal institutions all over the world.
Recently 10 lawyers of the People’s Law Office and CHD are kept in Turkish prison with sentences up to 18 years for carrying out their profession. Ebru Timtik was left to death by the authorities of injustice in a hunger protest for fair trial..
Letter from lawyer Aytac Ünsal to Interior Minister Soylu:
«I said before, “you are scared”. You are really scared.
The fact that the mountains of fear you were trying to create collapsed suddenly with our hungry bodies really scared you. I saw and felt this once again while I was in custody. You made a statement about me, this special hostility of you is also due to your fear.
You are trying to suppress your fear by making my body, which has many ailments, tortured in front of the cameras, by trying to crush, as my favorite folk song Efem says ‘our unbowed heads’ with your new-fledged officers.
But in vain!
And don’t be too proud of those new-fledged officers. Throughout detention, they kept saying they didn’t want it to be like that either. They betrayed you by saying that the torture shows were held on the orders of you, their superiors.
You will never succeed!
Even if you physically bow our heads with your new-fledged boys, even if you bury us alive, you will not be able to bow our heads.
You will not be able to surrender our hearts.
We Will Defeat You!
We will eradicate your injustices.
Ebru’s blood has not dried on your hands yet.
In short, as your crimes increase, you will continue to be afraid!

L’avvocato del popolo Aytac Ünsal, che era in punto di morte e che è stato rilasciato dal carcere con una decisione del tribunale per ottenere un trattamento, è stato arbitrariamente arrestato di nuovo qualche settimana fa su richiesta del Ministero degli Interni. È stato arrestato e torturato dalla polizia, dopo aver lasciato Istanbul con un amico per respirare aria diversa.
Non c’è alcuna base legale per la sua detenzione e il suo arresto, nonostante le false accuse e le menzogne propagandistiche contenute nei media della polizia che dichiarano che Aytac stava per lasciare il Paese. Né questa accusa era vera, né l’ordine del tribunale gli proibiva di lasciare la città.
Aytac Ünsal è di nuovo in prigione, il suo ordine di rilascio è stato arbitrariamente annullato ed è stato privato del diritto alle cure mediche, anche se non ha avuto abbastanza tempo per riprendersi dopo 215 giorni di sciopero della fame. La polizia antiterrorismo ha applicato i suoi crimini di tortura su un avvocato davanti alle telecamere.
Vogliamo la libertà immediata, prima di tutto per Aytac Ünsal e poi per tutti gli avvocati del popolo che sono stati arrestati senza un giusto processo e il cui caso, che non era altro che una punizione politica, era stato testimoniato dagli studi legali, dagli ordini degli avvocati e dalle istituzioni legali di tutto il mondo.
Recentemente 10 avvocati dell’Ufficio Legale del Popolo e del CHD sono detenuti nel carcere turco con condanne fino a 18 anni per l’esercizio della loro professione. Ebru Timtik è stata lasciata morire dalle autorità per ingiustizia in una protesta di sciopero della fame per chiedere un processo equo…
Lettera dell’avvocato Aytac Ünsal al ministro dell’Interno Soylu:
«Ho detto prima: “Hai paura”. Sei davvero spaventato.
Il fatto che le montagne di paura che stavi cercando di creare siano crollate improvvisamente con i nostri corpi affamati ti ha davvero spaventato. L’ho visto e sentito ancora una volta mentre ero in custodia. Lei ha fatto una dichiarazione su di me, questa sua particolare ostilità è dovuta anche alla sua paura.
State cercando di reprimere la vostra paura facendo sì che il mio corpo, che ha molti disturbi, venga torturato davanti alle telecamere, cercando di schiacciare, come dice la mia canzone del popolo preferita Efem: “le nostre teste non piegate” con i vostri nuovi ufficiali.
Ma invano!
E non siate troppo orgogliosi di questi nuovi poliziotti. Durante tutta la detenzione, hanno continuato a dire che non volevano che fosse così. Vi hanno tradito dicendo che gli spettacoli di tortura si sono svolti per ordine vostro, dei loro superiori.
Non ci riuscirete mai!
Anche se ci piegherete fisicamente la testa con i vostri nuovi ragazzi, anche se ci seppellirete vivi, non riuscirete a piegare la mente.
Non riuscirete ad arrestare i nostri cuori.
Vi sconfiggeremo!
Sradicheremo le vostre ingiustizie.
Il sangue di Ebru non si è ancora asciugato sulle vostre mani.
In breve, con il moltiplicarsi dei vostri crimini, continuerete ad avere paura!
