In Brussels, Marco Garcia from the Venezuelan EU representation made a presentation.
The purpose of the presentation was to introduce the Anti-Fascist Front that has been established in Venezuela this year. A “World Congress Against Fascism and Neo-Fascism” was held in Caracas in September 2024 and January 2025. 2,000 participants from 120 countries attended.
Such a congress deemed necessary, because forces that are labeled as “far-right”, but should actually be defined as “fascist structures,” are developing and gaining strength. This does not happen spontaneously.
Currently, parallel to the deep crisis that imperialism is experiencing, the people are being pushed towards the far-right again. Why? Because capitalism structurally enters into crisis. To overcome this crisis, it needs to acquire new markets. Since there is no land left to be divided in the world it has to numb the people.
Imperialism is attacking the peoples of the world at every turn. In such processes, there is a very suitable ground for the people’s participation in revolutionary struggle and for the realization of socialist revolutions.
To prevent this revolution, which is capitalism’s greatest nightmare and its own end, the “far-right” is being brought forth and encouraged. For example, just on February 23, elections were held in Germany, and the racist, fascist, far-right party AFD received 20% of the votes, becoming the second party.
Venezuela is trying to elevate the anti-fascist struggle against this development in the world.
The AIF participated in this presentation and stated that it would take its place in the front that will be formed against fascism.
