The Greek police raided our office, to hinder our activities. They stole our daily living money, stole our electronic devices and computers in our offices. In our office, our War on Drugs Tv programmes and The Voice of the People radio-Tv programmes continue, News from Europe and Turkey are constantly being broadcast and the work of the anti-imperialist front (Greece) is being carried out. This is not the first time we have encountered such raids and operations in Greece. Operations carried out under their previous governments have resulted in arrests, prison sentences and kidnappings. Because, despite the rivalry between the bourgeois states of Greece and Turkey, the governments, secret services and extermination forces of the two states have traditionally cooperated in attacking and destroying the revolutionists. However, the pressure of the police cannot prevent us from continuing our work. On 24 March, 11 of our comrades were taken to the prosecutor’s office, and under the Anti-Terrorism Act 187a of Greece, they were sentenced to trial for setting up a terrorist organisation, possession of weapons and several charges of minor offences.
In most arrests so far, the policy against our comrades is to be transferred to prisons located in different parts of Greece, far from each other. The names of our comrades and the prisons they are in: Harika Kızılkaya and Hazal Seçer-Koridallos womens prison, Halil Demir-Grevena prison,Ali Ercan Gökoğlu-Malandrino prison, Şadi Naci Özpolat-Diyavata prison, İsmail Zat-Larisa prison, Anıl Sayar-Agios Stefanos Patra prison, Sinan Çam and Sinan Oktay Özen-Koridallos prison(E block). Burak Ağarmış and Hasan Kaya our comrades are still being held in the Police Department, awaiting their dispatch.
Turkish revolutionist Şadi Naci Özpolat was taken from the Police Department in Athens in the morning of March 27 and transferred to the Diavata prison in Thessaloniki.
Dishonorable searches were imposed at the prison entrance and his coat was not issued under the excuse of “we can’t search”.
Political prisoners in and out of Prisons in Greece and all over the world have defeated their resistance and struggle and their policies of dishonorable top search at the prison entrance. The guards arbitrarily confiscated his coat, and after Şadi Naci Özpolat was put into a single cell without yard. He began an indefinite hunger strike to protest against the imposition of dishonorable search, the non-granting of his coat, his being thrown into the cell, and the punishment by prohibiting yard time.
These attacks and oppressive policies took place within the general framework of the social and class attack we have experienced and under the fear of coronavirus outbreak. The essence of this framework is the attempt to assign the responsibility of capital and its state to personal responsibility and to the Invisible Enemy. Scattered health care, work uncertainty and a framework in which daily life is controlled. But enemies appear and are responsible for the frightening future they plot. They are those who would rather give money to NATO’s combat equipment than to fund the Public Health System, the appointment of health workers and the necessary equipment. They are the ones who have plundered public money, and to date the police are the ones who have paid for the development of the equipment. They cut salaries through anti-labor laws with the KHK’s they enacted. They are the ones who closed the borders until a month ago, who sunk boats carrying refugees, who shot up unarmed refugees, and then called for nationalism. Because the new environment developing with coronavirus can deepen the crisis of the system and give us new tasks. Because, in the final analysis, in this crisis, it is predetermined to destroy the consequences on the poor, workers and the public.
We know exactly who our enemy is. Those who declare us terrorists are the real terrorists!
They are responsible for suffering, persecution, exploitation, poverty, unemployment, corruption and diseases!
Imperialism and its local collaborators are constantly using all means to attack the working class and the Peoples. Those who have covered the whole world in blood, even in the slightest pursuit of Rights, attack brutally!
But the world does not belong to them. The world belongs to those who resist and fight! Because history writes class warfare. Thus, we raise the hope of the peoples of Anatolia, Europe and the whole world. We will throw imperialism into the dustbin of history with our belief in the revolutionary struggle. We will continue to fight, to nag, to spread our resistance to all the peoples of the world!
Our struggle continues and will continue, and we will not take a step back.
Note: Coronavirus has already been a excuse for many attacks in Greek prisons, visits are restricted, prisoners are prohibited from being given the most necessary clothes and books.
THE STRUGGLE AGAINST IMPERIALISM, CAPITALISM AND FASCISM IS NOT A CRIME, IT IS A DUTY!
WE BRING FORWARD INTERNATIONALIST SOLIDARITY AGAINST NATIONALISM!
ARRESTS AND PRISON SENTENCES WON’T STOP US!
FREEDOM FOR THE COMMUNISTS AND REVOLUTIONS OF TURKEY AND KURDISTAN!
WE ARE RIGHT WE WILL WIN!
