PALESTINE AND INTERNATIONALISM

The Turkish Grand National Assembly convened on the Palestine agenda. A decision was taken to suspend Israel’s UN membership and to recognize Palestine as a state.

UK Prime Minister Starmer:
“We will recognize Palestine in September.”

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country has decided to recognize the State of Palestine.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney declared that his country will take steps in September to formally recognize the State of Palestine.

Andorra, Australia, Canada, Spain, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Slovenia… in a joint statement made on behalf of the foreign ministers of 15 countries, a call was made for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

Out of the 193 UN member states, at least 149 already recognize the State of Palestine. But this does not stop Israel’s occupation and massacres. It does not prevent thousands of Palestinians from dying of hunger under siege.

Because the recognition of Palestine as a state is deception and hypocrisy.

Within the European left and the reformist left, too, there is talk of recognizing Palestine. They talk about a two-state solution. This is deception. This is a method of legitimizing Israel and perpetuating its existence.

Being in internationalist solidarity with the Palestinian people does not mean struggling for the recognition of Palestine.

Internationalism means strengthening the resistance against imperialism in Palestine.
Internationalism means strengthening the resistance against imperialism across the entire world.

The two centers of the world today:
The Palestinian Resistance and the Death Fast Resistance in Turkey.

Internationalism is to grow the resistance of the Palestinian people on Palestinian soil and spread it across the world.

Because one who does not fight for revolution in their own country cannot be an internationalist.

Because internationalism is not mere solidarity — it is fighting shoulder to shoulder against imperialism.

INTERNATIONALISM IS NOT JUST A SLOGAN. To stand with an oppressed people under imperialist siege requires being willing to pay a price.

With mere “solidaristic” feelings, one cannot oppose imperialism. The issue is not simply to “show solidarity.” Solidarity means temporarily supporting something that is not truly your own, something that will not actually affect your own life. But in a reality where imperialism attacks with all its organizations, institutions, and counter-operations, where the very question is one of existence or annihilation, an active resistance must be developed.

Without waging war against imperialism, one cannot be an internationalist.

Internationalism is to feel in your heart the suffering of other peoples and to be willing to pay a price for it.

“This is my last letter, but not my last greeting. When imperialist America attacked the Afghan people, when it fueled Zionism against the Palestinian people, and when it finally amassed occupation forces in Iraq and carried out massacres — my heart burned. With my fire, I was a barricade in front of all these assaults.”
— Martyr of Devotion Selma Kubat

Revolutionary organizations must not be content with merely exposing the current situation. That is now a very backward stance. Leftism that only makes press statements, denounces, and exposes is powerless in the face of imperialist banditry. Imperialism is death, oppression, blood, massacre, occupation, plunder. Imperialism cannot be opposed with “humanitarian” appeals, with protest forms of struggle — but only with resistance, with revolutions, with the legitimate violence of peoples. What is happening has already gone far beyond the stage of mere exposure of massacres. We must go beyond protesting with press releases.

“There is only one, a single real internationalism; it consists in working selflessly to develop the revolutionary movement and the revolutionary struggle in one’s own country, and in supporting — without reservation — this very struggle, this same line, and only this, in all countries (through propaganda, sympathy, and material aid). Everything else is deception.”
— Lenin, April Theses

“If the communist party of any country takes into account the conditions and circumstances of its own country, while making the interests of the international proletariat and the revolution in other countries its central focus—meaning that, in essence and spirit, it is internationalist—then only by doing the utmost possible in its own country for the development, support, and strengthening of revolutions ‘in all countries,’ can that party’s strategy and tactics be correct.”
(Stalin – Strategy and Tactics)

So, internationalist solidarity with the Palestinian people means having a revolutionary program in your own country, having a revolutionary strategy, and putting it into practice.

Since the time of Mahir Çayan, Cephe (Front) cadres have considered it their duty to protest all imperialist attacks against the peoples and revolutionaries of the world, to take a stance against imperialism in various forms; in every imperialist assault, armed and unarmed actions have been carried out, and solidarity with the peoples has been built.

The honor of struggling together with the Palestinian people against Zionism and imperialism still belongs to the revolutionaries and socialists of this country. It is the heritage left to us by Mahir and his comrades.

The center of the world is wherever resistance exists. Because the heart of the world beats where there is resistance. In the 1970s, too, the heart of the world was Palestine — because there was resistance.

And in Turkey, Mahir and his comrades outlined the path of the Turkish revolution. They gave life to this path with their weapons, their ideology, their struggles.

By carrying out their first action, they announced to the whole world the founding of THKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front)

The target they chose was Israel’s Consul General in Turkey, Efraim Elrom.

This was the uniting of the Palestinian resistance with the Turkish revolution.

It was not a nostalgic solidarity with the Palestinian people. It was striking a blow against imperialism inside Turkey, opening another front of the anti-imperialist war in Turkey itself.

It meant having your own revolutionary strategy, the determination to wage war against imperialism. It meant carrying the claim of revolution against imperialism — that is, taking sides.

Mahir and his comrades proclaimed the path of revolution by kidnapping Israel’s Consul General in Istanbul, Efraim Elrom.

This was the bond established between the Turkish revolution and the Palestinian revolution through weapons, through blood, through anti-imperialist and anti-fascist consciousness.

With the action of kidnapping Elrom, who was a Mossad agent and responsible for the bloodshed of the Palestinian people, they challenged imperialism and declared: our revolution passes through the war against imperialism.

“To the Americanist Council of Ministers:
On May Day, the People’s Liberation Front of Turkey kidnapped Efraim Elrom, Consul General of Zionist Israel — the stooge of imperialism and the chief enemy of the peoples of the Middle East — who played an important role in organizing Zionist activities in our country.
Against the domination of imperialism, against the violence of counterrevolution, there is no other way but to take up arms.”
— Central Committee of the People’s Liberation Front of Turkey, May 17, 1971

Imperialism is death, oppression, blood, massacre, occupation, plunder.

We are the inheritors of Mahir’s legacy.

Solidarity without a revolutionary program of one’s own does not go beyond being a hobby.

Those who run “recognition of Palestine” campaigns are in fact evading the responsibility of expanding the anti-imperialist war worldwide, trying to ease their own consciences, deceiving the peoples.

Indeed, 149 out of 193 UN member states already recognize Palestine. More and more countries announce recognition. But at precisely this time, Israel’s occupation and massacres are reaching their peak. Alongside statements of recognition, Palestine is being forced into surrender.

Let them not recognize Palestine. We recognize imperialism.

Let them not run campaigns to recognize Palestine. We recognize reformism, European-style leftism, for what it is.

We salute the Palestinian people’s resistance with our own war waged in our own country.

We salute it with our Death Fast Resistance in the S, R, and Y-Type prisons.

The heart of the world beats here. The Front prisoners resisting in the S, R, and Y-Types are the heart of the world. The Palestinian people resisting under the bombs raining down on them are the heart of the world.

Two centers of the world are resisting.

In conclusion:
Statements of “recognizing Palestine” are sheer hypocrisy.

Internationalist solidarity is to grow the resistance of the Palestinian people and to spread resistance against imperialism across the entire world.

The greatest support that can be given to the Palestinian people is to fight against imperialism and fascism in your own country.

It means having a revolutionary program and strategy in your own country.

“An internationalist is the one who does the utmost possible in their own country.” — Lenin.
