Announcement from Anti-Imperialist Front:
US-EU-UK IMPERIALISM, FASCISM OF TURKEY, NATO AND ISRAELI ZIONISM: HANDS OFF SYRIA!
On 8th December 2024, after 13 years of imperialist intervention and proxy war, US-EU-UK Imperialism, Fascism of Turkey, NATO and Israeli Zionism managed to overthrow the Syrian Arab Republic’s government, led by Bashar al-Assad. Those powers are establishing a government serving their interests, pouring into the field their vanguard forces; Hay´at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Syrian National Army (SNA) former Free Syrian Army (FSA).
It is a military intervention against the Syrian people. USA realized it´s “Great Middle Project”. It is one of those colour revolutions of imperialism.
Since 2011, groups like Al-Nusra Front, FSA together with fascism of Turkey have been fighting to realize the plans of imperialism in Syria. They were ruling Idlib, half of Aleppo and areas on the border to Turkey. Idlib was ruled by Salafists with Sharia law under Islamist supremacist ideas. These Salafist groups are now in the charge of the whole Syria and are preparing their next massacres against all minorities and people that deviate from their norms. Syria has the oldest Christian communities in the world and together with Alawite and Shia population, they are under direct threat of Salafist supremacist ideas. Especially, women are in a fragile position as religious pressure will increase.
Right now, Syria is invaded by foreign Salafists from Uzbekistan, Chechenia, Uyghur area of China etc. These individuals and groups are masquerading themselves as rebels against oppression, yet they are nothing but hordes of imperialist schemes, an unholy alliance for unrestricted access to Syrian resources for brutal capital accumulation.
Syria was not a socialist country, yet it was largely protected from the financial speculation that was ravaging the rest of the capitalist world thanks to the highly nationalised economy. Even under the crippling sanctions from USA, it was able to provide basic material needs for its citizens. One of the first statements of HTS after taking control is to announce that, they will move away from the state-controlled economy to a free market model to attract investment. Now, IMF and international capital will devour Syria. Labour of Syrian people will be cheaper than ever before, a trend that is observable for more than eleven years in Syrian refugee diaspora.
These developments are a disaster for the Syrian people and for the Middle East as a whole. The attack on Syria comes after months of massacres in Palestine and Lebanon and makes it clear to us what the plans of imperialism and Zionism were and are in the region. They are a blow to the Axis of Resistance and a blow to the entire anti-imperialist camp of the world. We saw the same plot during the previous years in Libya and Iraq.
The occupation of Syria can be considered as a loss of position for the peoples.
A loss for all those people of Syria that didn’t collaborate, for 13 years resisted against imperialism, bombings, embargo and sanctions. But we are sure, it is a temporarily loss.
In the same time, Zionist armies are marching towards Damascus, living their “Blitzkrieg” moment. Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) already invaded five different areas around Golan Heights. Now, Israeli politicians and their US counterparts can talk freely about how Golan Heights belongs to Israel and erasing the occupation that is lasting for more than 40 years.
Zionist plans are far reaching than just simple land grab; in a course of a single week, IOF bombarded Syrian soil more than 300 times, targeting Syrian Army positions and civilian research centres. Now, Syrian fleet do not exist anymore, all of the countries critical military assets are nearly destroyed and neutralised. IOF captured the most strategic peak in the region, Mount Hermon, where most of the Baka Valley, transport routes from Syria to Lebanon, even the mountains of Cyprus can be observed during a clear day.
THERE IS NOTHING TO CELEBRATE ABOUT SYRIA
When the enemy of the peoples of the world Netanyahu, Biden, Trump, Erdogan are celebrating, how can progressive people applaud? Those who celebrate and applaud the invasion of Syria by collaborator forces are taking sides with imperialism, Zionism and fascism. In terms of peoples, for progressive, democratic, socialist, anti-fascist, anti-imperialist forces there is nothing to celebrate.
From the first statements by Mohammed Abu al-Jolani, leader of HTS, after the seizure of power in Damascus, everyone can understand whose interests they serve. After he is questioned publicly about the Israeli aggression towards Syrian soil, he stated that: “So the country isn´t ready for another one [war] and it´s not going to get into another one. The sources of our fears was from the Iranian militias, Hezbollah and the [Assad] regime…”.
As anti-imperialists, we consider the situation in Syria is very critical. But the struggle against imperialism, Zionism and its collaborators will not stop. As anti-imperialist, we are standing for the freedom of Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.
THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLES IN SYRIA ARE IMPERIALIST FORCES OF US-EU-UK AND THEIR REGIONAL COLLABORATORS
The overthrow of the Assad government and the occupation of Syria was not the result of a popular movement, but through forces trained and equipped by imperialism and their collaborators. From 2011 until today Syria is under imperialist invasion conducted through their proxies.
Thousands of martyrs fell in the battles against the collaborators who were equipped by imperialism, Turkey, Qatar and etc.
All collaborators as Al-Nusra Front, rebranded as HTS, FSA, now called SNA were used in the plan to divide Syria into pieces. Also Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are used to control areas with petrol for the profits of USA, under the disguise of progressive politics.
After HTS took the power in Damascus, SDF announced through its general Commander Mazloum Abdi that, they will officially negotiate with HTS and Turkey. The power behind these negotiations is USA.
DISINFORMATION AS A TOOL FOR OCCUPPYING THE MINDS OF THE PEOPLE
At the same time of the occupation, a huge wave of disinformation has flooded in the bourgeoisie media. The main goal is to make people believe that the imperialist funded mercenaries are liberators.
Despite all the attempts of whitewashing from the bourgeoisie media, we state the obvious; they are terrorist Salafists and a big danger for all Syrian people.
Disinformation is used by imperialism to hide their crimes. They are telling lies for decades about their wars and invasions. Bourgeoisie media rely heavily on emotional fallacy, never report honestly about imperialist aggression and intervention to Syria, so they babble about victims of Assad regime. Targeting the people’s emotion, they cripple the critical thinking.
We know these methods well from the military invasions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Since 13 years not a single bourgeoisie media is reporting about real situation in Syria. All the news about support towards Assad governance were censored.
We know this game too well. They always use the same words like “regime change”, “dictator”, “chemical weapons”, “US will bring the democracy to liberate the people” every day in the bourgeoisie media.
We are telling clearly this can never happen. Imperialism and its collaborators CAN NEVER LIBERATE THE PEOPLE.
The only liberation of the people is to unite and fight against imperialism and their puppets. Imperialism wants to impose the idea that, the only way to survive is to collaborate with them.
But this is the biggest lie, the people of the world have nothing to earn from collaboration. Imperialism cannot break our moral. We have a duty to continue to fight against disinformation, grow the resistance against imperialism, Zionism and fascism and their collaborators.
