AS US IMPERIALISM AND ISRAELI ZIONISM ATTEMPT TO SUBDUE IRAN, THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES HAVE CARRIED OUT THE LARGEST PROTESTS SINCE VIETNAM
IMPERIALIST AGGRESSION IS NOT LEGITIMATE IN THE EYES OF THE PEOPLE, AND CAN NEVER GAIN LEGITIMACY
Israel’s Defence Minister Yisrael Katz has stated that 35,000 tonnes of bombs were dropped on Iran.
Israel and the United States have been devastating Iran, bombing schools, bridges, oil refineries, power plants, buildings, and public squares.
During the one-month war, tens of thousands of tonnes of bombs were dropped on thousands of locations.
The aggression of the United States and Israel has provoked strong reactions among people around the world. As in the past in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Libya, they have failed to convince people with false claims. They were not even able to bring NATO into this aggression.
Their policies in the Middle East to date, and the massacres they have carried out, have deepened the anger of people towards US imperialism and Israeli Zionism.
Protests under the slogan “NO KINGS” were held across all 50 states in the United States.
The American people carried out the largest anti-war protests since Vietnam. In 3,100 locations, 95 million people protested against the war. The American people do not want to experience another Vietnam, nor do they want to see their children return home in coffins.

They know that the attack on Iran is not a matter of national security, but the result of the greed of exploitative monopolies. That is why they oppose this war.
The American system is facing not only an economic crisis, but also a political and social crisis. While the interests of monopolies push for increased aggression, the public’s opposition to war creates internal tensions. This is not a crisis that can be easily resolved. US imperialism cannot sustain its aggression without persuading its own people.
Every act of aggression seeks to legitimise itself, because without legitimacy it cannot be sustained. Until now, they have deceived both their own people and the world with claims of “dictators”, “support for terrorism”, and “chemical weapons”, and have used these claims to justify their actions. They are likely to continue using similar justifications.
This is a fundamental contradiction of the capitalist, imperialist system of exploitation.
Lenin identified one of the key outcomes of imperialism as continuous wars. The imperialist era is a period in which the crises of capitalism reach their highest level, and therefore constantly give rise to wars. In order to overcome these crises, imperialist powers are compelled to continuously expand their areas of exploitation and deepen that exploitation.
Today, they impose neo-colonial relations on all countries that remain outside them. Those who do not accept these conditions are subjected to attack, occupation, bombardment, and coercion.
Iran is one of these target countries. For years, they were unable to bring Iran into line through sanctions or force it to accept their demands. As a result, they launched attacks against it. So far, these attacks have not achieved their intended outcome.
The Trump and Netanyahu administrations expected their actions to gain acceptance among the public. They hoped that the Iranian people would rise up and overthrow their government, while also expecting global support, or at least backing from their own populations. However, events have unfolded contrary to these expectations.
Firstly, the Iranian army mounted strong resistance, while the Iranian people, rather than rising up as expected, defended their country in the face of what is described as imperialist aggression. At the same time, protests against the war took place in both Israel and the United States, with demonstrators calling for the resignation of their leaders.
This situation is presented as evidence of the legitimacy of resistance against imperialism, as well as the inability of imperialist aggression to gain legitimacy in the eyes of the people.
In this sense, imperialism is politically weak and lacks policies capable of resolving its crises. It has no effective means to overcome or prevent these crises, as they stem from the capitalist system itself, which is based on exploitation and profit. Wars and imperialist aggression are therefore portrayed as outcomes of this inability.
According to this view, imperialist powers are unable to offer solutions other than war and violence, bringing them into conflict even with their own populations. As a result, crises deepen and give rise to greater political instability.
For years, ideologues of imperialism have argued that liberalism is the best economic system, claiming it would bring prosperity and stability. Certain reformist and system-aligned left groups have echoed these claims. However, it is argued that monopoly capitalism has brought neither prosperity nor peace, but instead greater exploitation, more wars, more occupations, and increased poverty.
Claims of democracy, equality, prosperity, and human rights associated with the capitalist-imperialist system are described as having collapsed within a few decades, leading to a deepening crisis. As aggression increases, so too does opposition from the people.
Conclusion:
- Imperialism is not as strong as it appears; it is politically weak and attempts to compensate through aggression.
- It lacks the capacity to resolve its crises and has no policies capable of preventing them.
- The United States and Israel dropped tens of thousands of tonnes of bombs on Iran, expecting the population to rise up, but this did not occur.
- Attempts to provoke unrest within Iran failed, and the population did not submit to external pressure.
- The largest protests in the United States since the Vietnam War took place, with people opposing the war and rejecting the loss of lives for corporate interests.
- Aggression will deepen the contradiction between imperialist powers and the peoples of the world. This contradiction will persist until it is resolved in favour of the people, and until then, wars and broader social problems will continue.
