Freedom for Özgül Emre, İhsan Cibelik, Serkan Küpeli and Hasan Unutan, who were imprisoned in Germany under the pretext of the 129 laws.
Eda Deniz Haydaroğlu started an indefinite hunger strike in Germany against these unjust and unlawful decisions.
In Greece, Konstantina Karsioti announced a 15-day hunger strike for the abolition of the 129 laws and the release of imprisoned revolutionaries with a press statement in front of the Berkin-Alexis monument in the Exarcheia district of Athens. Konstantina made a statement in Turkish, Greek and English; We do not accept the German state’s attempt to criminalise revolutionism and to judge revolutionaries to be terrorısts. The real criminals are imperialists and collaborator governments, she said, adding that fighting against imperialism is not a crime but a duty. Finally, she called on everyone to support hunger strikes fighting the fascist 129 laws.
After the press statement, leaflets were distributed at the stand, music was played and halays were danced. The reasons for the solidarity hunger strike which are supported by many Greek people were explained, the 129 laws in Germany were described and imperialism’s policy of attacking revolution and revolutionaries was set out. The importance of solidarity hunger strikes was mentioned.
The hunger strike stand will remain open in front of the Berkin Alexis monument in Exarcheia six days a week except Sundays. We call on all Greek people to show solidarity with our stand and to resist the fascist 129 laws.
